LOUIS, Sept. 13(Coal Geooogy): Patriot Coal Corporation (NYSE:PCX) is expencting 2010 third quarter sales volume to be in the range of 7.5 to 7.7 million tons, down about 10 percent from earlier estimates. Patriot Coal resumes operation at the Federal No. 2 mine

Patriot coal closed their Federal No. 2 mine last month due to high level of methane in an abandoned area of the mine. After the Sago mine explosion in 2006, MSHA adopted a new set of mine safety rules to avoid accidents.
