August 20 (Coal Geology)- CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. (the “Company” or “CanAlaska”) is pleased to report on its exploration activities at the Collins Bay Extension project, with assay results from Fife Island, where drilling in April 2010 established multiple uranium bearing zones, and the commencement of seismic profiling of the Blue Island diatreme target. The Collins Bay Extension project was optioned from Bayswater Uranium in 2009 (see July 15th, 2009 News Release). It is situated immediately adjacent to the current producing underground Eagle Point mine and the past producing open pit mines of Collins Bay and Rabbit Lake, mined by Cameco Corporation and its predecessors.

Uranium mineralization in drill core from hole CBX002 measured 4.7 metres assaying 0.043% U(3)O(8), where stringer zones of uranium mineralization were identified within a north west trending fault splay on the Vic zone at Fife Island. This is in the same area where drilling in 1981 intercepted 4.0 metres of 0.152% U(3)O(8) (in DDH MWL-D-8). In the following table there are both assay and radiometric probe results from April’s drilling. Drill holes CBX001 to CBX005 are from the Fife Island target, and the CBX006C assay is from one of the deeper fault zones on the Blue Island diatreme target. The first drill hole in April 2010 was southwest of Blue Island on the western of two circular geophysical anomalies. Drill hole CBX006 showed strong evidence of an extensive disruptive geological event associated with the circular features, with brecciation continuing to the end of the drill hole. The probe results are from zones where there was limited, or no recovery of core.

The Company is currently carrying out seismic survey profiling of the lake and basement terrain across the Blue Island target. This profiling will be used to identify major structures within the diatreme in preparation for Winter 2011 drilling. Preliminary results (see Figure 2) indicate that modeling will be able to provide significant detail on the target.

President Peter Dasler commented: “The Blue Island target is a large new feature in this area of the Athabasca Basin, and we are pleasantly surprised by the amount of breccia intersected in the drill hole. Other areas of the Athabasca Basin have circular structures associated with brecciation, alteration and uranium mineralization. This is a discrete target, and it is very encouraging that the first drill hole has given us evidence of uranium mineralization associated with the breccias.”

August 20 (Coal Geology) – Radius Gold Inc. is pleased to announce that Solomon Resources Limited (“Solomon”) has informed the Company that it has retained a drill contractor for the Ten Mile Creek gold property, Yukon and drilling is expected to commence within the next two weeks.

Solomon states in its news release issued today that it has completed the first phase of its 2010 field exploration program on the property. That work consisted of soil geochemical surveys, geophysical surveys and mechanical trenching. The objective of their program was to verify the results reported by former operators and refine diamond drill targets for drilling this season.

The Ten Mile Creek property is located within the Dawson Range of Canada’s Yukon Territory approximately thirty kilometres north-northwest of the Kinross White Gold property. Solomon can earn a 51% interest in the property by spending $2.5 million on exploration and making staged cash and share payments of $500,000 cash and 1 million shares over 3 years, according to the following schedule:

Deadline Cash Shares Expenditures

——– —- —— ————

TSXV approval 500,000 (received)

May 21, 2010 $100,000 (received) 100,000 (received)

2010 exploration

season $350,000

May 21, 2011 $150,000 150,000

2011 exploration

season $650,000

May 21, 2012 $250,000 250,000

2012 exploration

season $1,500,000

On completion of the earn-in, a 51/49 joint venture would be formed going forward. The joint venture would cover all costs related to the project on a pro rated basis.

Solomon’s work confirms the results obtained by previous operators in the area which identified anomalous gold values in stream sediment, soil and rock samples. In 1998, Teck Resources Limited staked over 200 claims in the area, and in the following three seasons it carried out a reconnaissance program of geological mapping, soil and rock sampling, and a minor trenching program on the property. This work outlined five gold mineralized zones hosted in and adjacent to two Mesozoic quartz monzonite intrusive bodies. See Solomon’s news release dated August 19, 2010 for more detail about their results.

Rivier Claims, Yukon

——————–

Radius is also pleased to announce that it has been granted an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Rivier claims located in the Watson Lake Mining District, Yukon. The geological setting and anomalous geochemical values found at the Rivier target are consistent with the possible presence of intrusion related gold deposits.

The 100 claims optioned to Radius cover an area of roughly 7km by 15km over a series of anomalous gold + arsenic in stream sediment samples taken from streams that drain a Mid Cretaceous pluton, intruding siliciclastics of the Nasina subterrane and Slide Mountain rocks.

To exercise the option, which is subject to Exchange approval, Radius must pay to the property owner a total of $175,000 cash and issue a total of 200,000 shares over four years.

Qualified Person

David Cass, Radius’s Vice-President of Exploration, is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, and is the Company’s Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Cass is responsible for the accuracy of the technical information in this news release and has verified that it is an accurate summary of the reports provided to Radius by Solomon. Radius has not independently verified Solomon’s exploration results.

About Radius

Radius has been exploring for gold in Latin America for nearly a decade, and has assembled interests in a portfolio of promising gold projects throughout the region, including carried stakes in two small-scale developing gold projects in Guatemala and Nicaragua. Radius also has two 100% owned exploration plays, the HB property in Guatemala and Sixty Mile property in the Yukon Territory – with drilling campaigns for 2010 in the planning stages.

An additional 9,000-meter diamond drilling program has been approved which will target the still-open western extent of mineralization as well as inferred resources lying below the current US$950 pit bottom. The results from this additional program will be included in the 2010 year end mineral resource and reserve estimate.

Table 1 below shows the resources and reserves updated as of June 30, 2010 for the Kisladag mine. Measured and indicated gold resources have increased by 0.85 million ounces to 11.12 million ounces and inferred resources have increased by 0.82 million ounces to 3.77 million ounces for a total resource increase of 1.67 million ounces of gold.

Based on the new resource model and using a gold price of US$950 per ounce, proven and probable gold reserves have increased by 0.98 million ounces to 7.79 million ounces. Figures 1 and 2, are E-W and N-S cross sections through the centre of the deposit illustrating the increase by comparing the 2009 pit design with the current pit design. These additional ounces have been added to the Company’s inventory at an incremental cost of approximately US$4.00 per ounce. Economic pit runs performed at current gold prices (approximately US$1,200 per ounce) result in 8.5 million ounces in the pit shell from measured and indicated resources.

In addition to the diamond drilling program scheduled for the remainder of the year, we have embarked on a metallurgical testing program designed to confirm recovery levels from various ore types and have also initiated a mining equipment study to determine the optimal truck and shovel sizes to reflect the resource increase realized subsequent to the feasibility study and equipment selection. Preliminary results support that a move to larger loading and hauling equipment with the attendant reduction in operating costs, will significantly improve the performance of the Kisladag mine through accessing more of the 11.1 million ounces of measured and indicated resources presently defined.

Table 2 below shows the resource and reserve updates published since the original feasibility study in March 2003. Gold reserves have increased by 3.26 million ounces, which when combined with the gold ounces placed on the leach pad represents a doubling of the reserve base since March 2003. Similar increases have also been achieved for both measured and indicated and inferred resources.

ON BEHALF OF ELDORADO GOLD CORPORATION

Paul N. Wright, President & Chief Executive Officer

Notes on mineral resources and assay data

Stephen Juras, Ph.D., P.Geo., Director, Technical Services is the qualified person responsible for the Kisladag mineral resource estimate. Samples from the Kisladag drilling were prepared at Eldorado’s facility in Turkey and assayed at the ALS facility in Vancouver, Canada. Analysis for gold was done on sawn half core samples using fire assay (AA finish or Gravimetric Finish). Standard reference materials, blank and field duplicate samples were regularly inserted prior to shipment from the preparation site to monitor and control the quality of the assay data. The estimates were made from 3D block models utilizing commercial mine planning software (MineSight®). The work used data from 392 diamond and RC drill holes, of which 42 were new diamond drill holes. Lithology and mineralization models were revised to these new data. Mineralized shells were generated using PACK (probability assisted constrained kriging) methods at threshold gold grades equal to 0.20 g/t. Grade interpolation estimated values for gold by ordinary kriging. The estimates were based on 5 m composited assays which were not capped prior to compositing and interpolation. Instead, control of infrequent extreme grades incorporated a series of outlier restricted protocols. The mineralized shell to background boundaries were treated as “hard” for the purposes of gold interpolation. The lithology-based domains were also treated as “hard” for the purposes of gold interpolation relative to other lithologies. Resource classification into Measured, Indicated and Inferred mineral resources used logic consistent with the CIM definitions referred to in National Instrument 43-101.

Cautionary Note Regarding Mineral Reserves and Mineral Resources

The terms “Mineral Reserve”, “Proven Mineral Reserve” and “Probable Mineral Reserve” used in this release are Canadian mining terms as defined in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects under the guidelines set out in the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (the “CIM”) Standards on Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves, adopted by the CIM Council on August 20, 2000 as may be amended from time to time by the CIM. These definitions differ from the definitions in the United States Securities & Exchange Commission (“SEC”) Guide 7. In the United States, a mineral reserve is defined as a part of a mineral deposit which could be economically and legally extracted or produced at the time the mineral reserve determination is made.

The terms “Mineral Resource”, “Measured Mineral Resource”, “Indicated Mineral Resource”, “Inferred Mineral Resource” used in this release are Canadian mining terms as defined in accordance with National Instruction 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects under the guidelines set out in the CIM Standards. Mineral Resources which are not Mineral Reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability.

For a detailed discussion of resource and reserve estimates and related matters see the Company’s reports, including the Annual Information Form and Form 40-F dated March 31, 2010 and technical reports filed under the Company’s name at www.sedar.com and www.sec.gov respectively.

Cautionary Note to US Investors Concerning Estimates of Measured, Indicated and Inferred Resources

Note to U.S. Investors. While the terms “mineral resource”, “measured mineral resource,” “indicated mineral resource”, and “inferred mineral resource” are recognized and required by Canadian regulations, they are not defined terms under standards in the United States and normally are not permitted to be used in reports and registration statements filed with the SEC. As such, information contained in this report concerning descriptions of mineralization and resources under Canadian standards may not be comparable to similar information made public by U.S companies in SEC filings. With respect to “indicated mineral resource” and “inferred mineral resource” there is a great amount of uncertainty as to their existence and a great uncertainty as to their economic and legal feasibility. It can not be assumed that all or any part of an “indicated mineral resource” or “inferred mineral resource” will ever be upgraded to a higher category. Investors are cautioned not to assume that any part or all of mineral deposits in these categories will ever be converted into reserves.

Eldorado Gold Corporation’s shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: ELD) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: EGO). Eldorado’s CHESS Depositary Interests (CDIs) trade on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: EAU).

VANCOUVER, Aug. 17 (Coal Geology) – Capstone Mining Corp. today announced assay results for three new holes from Wildfire, the most recent high grade copper-gold discovery at its Minto Mine. Follow-up drilling continues with two drills on Wildfire and the 2010 exploration budget has been increased by a further $1.5 million to allow systematic drill testing of this prospective discovery and other targets generated from a deep penetrating IP survey completed in 2010. Highlights from the most recent holes drilled at Wildfire are summarized in the table below.

“The high grade Wildfire copper-gold discovery at Minto continues to spread,” said Stephen Quin, President of Capstone. “With an additional $1.5 million in exploration funds, we are positioned to systematically drill test the entire anomaly, as well as begin the evaluation of a number of other prospective targets identified during the recent geophysical survey,” he added.

Wildfire Discovery – Minto Mine

As reported on July 15, 2010, Capstone commenced construction of a network of drill roads over the Wildfire-Copper Keel area in order to facilitate the evaluation of the Wildfire Titan-24 chargeability anomaly that measures more than 900 metres north-south by more than 250 metres east-west. With drill roads now established, two drills are systematically drilling on four east-west orientated sections across the Wildfire-Copper Keel chargeability anomaly, with each section line spaced approximately 80 metres apart (north-south). The objective of this program is (a) establish the geographic extent of the Wildfire mineralization and (b) to attempt to link the Wildfire mineralization to that at Copper Keel, to the northwest. To date 23 holes have been completed and, including this news release, results released for four holes. The third drill continues delineation drilling at Minto East, but is expected to complete this work within two weeks, and will then move on to testing other targets.

Additional Minto Drilling

Also, as reported on June 23, 2010, Capstone undertook a property-wide Titan-24 deep penetrating Induced Potential (“IP”) survey. Due to the discovery of, and the subsequent expanded testing at Wildfire, funds that were intended to drill test these other Titan-24 anomalies were diverted to evaluating the Wildfire discovery. In order to ensure that Capstone can still drill test several other new and untested anomalies identified in the survey, an additional $1.5 million dollars in exploration spending has been approved, the second increase this year. This brings the total exploration commitment to $7.0 million, the highest annual exploration commitment for the Minto Mine and a reflection of the Company’s belief that significant opportunities exist for continued increases of mineral resources and mineral reserves.

Report on Titan 24 Survey

Capstone is awaiting the final report on inversion modelling of the Titan-24 data and intends to make it available shortly.
Quality Assurance

The technical information in this news release has been prepared in accordance with Canadian regulatory requirements set out in National Instrument 43-101 and reviewed by Stephen P. Quin, P. Geo., President of Capstone Mining Corp. The exploration activities at the Minto project site are carried out under the supervision of Brad Mercer, P. Geol., V.P. Exploration of Capstone.

The analytical method for the copper and silver analyses is aqua regia digestion of the samples followed by atomic absorption spectroscopy. Gold is analysed by fire assay fusion with atomic absorption spectroscopy finish for gold. Analyses are carried out by ALS CHEMEX in North Vancouver. When visible gold is noted in drill core samples or regular fire assay values appear abnormally high, the pulp and screen metallic assay method is used to determine the total gold content and gold contents of different size fractions. This is considered industry best practice when dealing with coarse gold mineralization where a nugget effect is suspected. This determination is accepted as the most representative value and is used in the assay database for mineral resource calculations. Blank and standard samples are used for quality assurance and quality control. Where more than two check samples assay outside expected ranges, the entire batch is re-assayed. After the completion of planned drill programs at Minto, random check assays will be carried out by Inspectorate-IPL of Vancouver.

VANCOUVER, Aug. 17 (Coal Geology) – Rare Element Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce that its common shares have been authorized for listing on the NYSE Amex (“AMEX”) in the United States and trading will commence on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 under the ticker symbol “REE”. The Company’s common shares will continue to be listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol “RES” in Canada.

The AMEX listing will give a broad variety of investors easier access to trading in the common shares of Rare Element and provide an additional platform for the Company to access new investors who are looking for investments in Rare Earths focused companies.

Mark T. Brown, CFO, noted that “we expect this new listing will enhance our liquidity due to making trading in our shares easier for both U.S. and some foreign investors, and that our visibility will be increased due to this new listing. It also is logical considering that the Bear Lodge rare-earths project, with excellent nearby infrastructure, is located in the mining friendly state of Wyoming, USA.”

Rare Element’s common shares have also regularly traded in the U.S. on the OTC pink sheets market under the symbol “RRLMF”, and in Germany on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol “R8V”. In addition, like many companies listed in Canada, trades in the Company’s shares are often completed on alternative trading platforms which regularly account for approximately 10% of the trading volume in Canada for Rare Element’s common shares.

Rare Element Resources Ltd. is a publicly traded mineral resource company focused on exploration and development of rare-earth elements and gold on the Bear Lodge property.

Rare-earth elements are key components of the green energy technologies and other high-technology applications. Some of the major applications include hybrid automobiles, plug-in electric automobiles, advanced wind turbines, computer hard drives, compact fluorescent light bulbs, metal alloys, additives in ceramics and glass, petroleum cracking catalysts, and a number of critical military applications. China currently produces more than 95% of the 130,000 metric tonnes of rare-earths consumed annually worldwide, and China has been reducing its exports of rare earths each year. The rare-earth market is growing rapidly, and is projected to accelerate if the green technologies are implemented on a broad scale.

TORONTO, Aug. 17 (Coal Geology) – Gammon Gold Inc. (“Gammon”) ( TSX: GAM / NYSE: GRS / BSX: GL7) : is pleased to announce the discovery of an encouraging new drill target at the Venus project located in the Ocampo – Pinos Altos region, as well as update on the continued progress at the advanced Guadalupe y Calvo development property.

“In recent months, the Company has significantly increased its land position in the Ocampo – Pinos Altos region that includes the Venus property located north of Ocampo. This growth strategy of increasing our land position in this highly competitive area is already providing encouraging results where, at the Venus property, we have already identified a new drill target associated with the La Boleta Vein. We expect to launch a drilling program to follow up on this and other potential targets shortly.” stated Peter Drobeck, Senior Vice President of Exploration and Business Development. “Additionally, drilling at our advanced development project, Guadalupe y Calvo, continues to report encouraging results. During the past month we reported another high-grade intercept that extends the strike length of the Rosario vein by 350 metres and we remain on target for delivering a scoping study that is anticipated to be completed during the fourth quarter.”

VENUS PROJECT UPDATE
————————————————————————-

The Company’s exploration program at the Venus Project, located directly north of the Ocampo land package, has identified a high-quality drill target known as the “La Boleta”. Preliminary work has defined a very strong surface gold-silver anomaly in association with veins, sheeted veinlets and vein stockworks.

During mapping of the Venus property an area of numerous small veinlets and stockworks associated with the La Boleta Vein was identified as a significant target for potential open-pit and underground mineable mineralization, similar in style to the nearby Ocampo and Pinos Altos districts (http://files.newswire.ca/258/Ocampo_Area_Map.pdf). A drilling program on this property will be launched during the quarter that will target this and other potential targets. Subsequent detailed mapping and surface rock-chip sampling has defined a target with surface dimensions of 400 metres long by up to 150 metres wide, within which there are a myriad of small veins and sheeted vein occurrences. A sub-parallel vein system was also identified that has 600 metres of strike length. Of the 234 surface geochemistry samples collected on the target to date, 101 (43%) contained over 0.20 grams per tonne gold equivalent(1). If gold values are capped at 8.00 grams per tonne, these 101 samples average 1.55 grams per tonne gold equivalent(1). Maximum values in the first pass sampling were 25.08 grams per tonne gold and 210 grams per tonne silver.

GUADALUPE Y CALVO EXPLORATION PROJECT UPDATE

————————————————————————-

The success of our drilling program at the Guadalupe y Calvo continues and recent results indicate that the Rosario Vein continues for another 200 metres, which extends the strikelength of the vein by approximately 350 metres from the detailed drilling completed in 2008. The most recent drill results from Hole GC-188 intersected the vein at a depth well below the detailed drilling conducted in 2008 and had an intercept of 0.7 metres grading 48.25 grams per tonne gold and 525 grams per tonne silver, or 57.80 grams per tonne gold equivalent(1). (Refer to Table 1).

The Company has received preliminary results from bottle roll metallurgical tests performed by Mountain States Research & Development Inc. of Tucson, where four samples of -100 mesh ores averaged 93% gold recovery and 69% silver recovery. Further testing is underway, including additional bottle roll tests and column leach tests on one-half and one-quarter inch size fractions.

Note: The Guadalupe y Calvo exploration information has been reviewed by Qualified Person, Mr. Peter Drobeck. All sample analyses reported herein for Guadalupe y Calvo were performed by SGS Laboratories, based in Mississauga, Ontario, using standard fire assay procedures and with ICP finish. Drilled lengths do not necessarily represent true widths. Gammon maintains a Quality Assurance and Quality Control program that includes insertion of commercially-purchased pulp control samples and blanks to insure laboratory accuracy.

GROWING PORTFOLIO OF PROPERTIES

————————————————————————-

The Company’s portfolio of properties has been significantly enhanced through the addition of three new prospective exploration properties in Mexico. The Company has expanded its land position in the Mexico 59% during 2010 through separate option agreements to acquire the Venus and Los Jarros properties located directly north and east of the Ocampo and Pinos Altos properties, through staking of new concessions west of Ocampo, and by its purchase option on the Mezquite Project in Zacatecas, Mexico.

This press release sets out the gold and silver grades found in the samples taken from various targets. Not all of these targets have been categorized as a mineral resource deposit under applicable Canadian mineral resource reporting standards, and it is uncertain if further exploration will result in these targets being delineated as mineral resources. The grades encountered so far should not be taken as representative of the ore bodies in question as there has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource, and such grades may not prove representative of the deposits if and when the same are delineated as mineral resources.

About Gammon Gold
