AEP to live webcast presentation by Michael G. Morris

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 7 (Coal Geology) — American Electric Power (NYSE:AEP) has scheduled a live audio webcast of a presentation by Michael G. Morris, chairman, president and chief executive officer, at the Barclays Capital CEO Energy-Power Conference in New York on Sept. 15. AEP delivers electricity to more than 5 million customers in 11 states. AEP also ranks among the nation’s largest generators of electricity, owning nearly 38,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the U.S.

The presentation, to an audience of investors, will begin at 8:25 a.m. EDT and can be accessed through the Internet at http://www.aep.com/investors/webcasts/. The webcast also will be available after the live event.

During the conference, AEP will reaffirm its 2010 ongoing earnings guidance of $2.80 to $3.20 per share.
